Wellington Warlords
Welcome to the Wellington Warlords, Wargaming in the Capital since 1972

News!

Starting times for Meetings

Please note that the official starting time for club meetings is 10.00 (at both venues). Please do not open up the venues earlier (especially as this is the job of the duty officer). While it is great that people are keen to get started earlier please remember
that, for example at Khandallah Presbyterian Church, there are cleaners etc. who need to do their jobs beforehand. Please wait until the venue is unlocked by the duty officer as per our arrangements with our landlords.

Welcome to new members!

Nick Smith, Duncan Richards (although Duncan has been a Warlord before!) and Pat McShane (renewed from last year!) have joined Warlords. Also there is a change of email addresses for Keir Leslie & Jason Isaac. We now have 114 members.

Make Your Presence Known!

A blackboard is by the door on which members can indicate if they are looking for a game. Hopefully this will help those that haven't organised a game in advance to get a game. Just write your name on the board with the type of game you are looking for. Thanks for the suggestion Mark Riddle!

Table Fees

The Club Committee is enforcing table fees for 'regular' non-members. The $10 per meeting fee is designed to encourage people to join the Warlords. Newcomers are free to come along, look and play but it was agreed by both the 2000 and 2001 committees that from the third meeting attendance they really should be joining the Club. Nobody likes collecting these fees but in the interest of fairness to existing members, 'regulars' should make a contribution via a subscription or table fee. Your support in this regard is appreciated.

Invitation from the Hutt Club

Hutt Club has a standing invitation for members of other clubs to play at their meetings in the Upper Hutt RSA on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays each month, without being charged table fees. So if you want somewhere to play on those Saturdays when the Warlords are not meeting, you can go to the Hutt Club for no charge (although you will face potential eviction if a Hutt club member needs a table). This invitation is very generous of the Hutt Club, but unfortunately it is unlikely that the Warlords will extend a similar courtesy any time soon, due mainly to space constraints at the Khandallah venue.
