Warlord Member of the Year

2004
Sean Smith

Sean was awarded "Warlord of the Year" for 2004 for ongoing work with the Club website. Since taking over as Webmaster, Sean has been tireless in his working in increasing content, updating news and ensuring that the site stays both relevant and current. As it is the Club's "Shop Window" this has been an enormous benefit to the Club. In addition Sean has been an active participant in Club "Flames of War" activities, in particular helping new members with their armies.

2003
Peter Dunn

Peter Dunn received the awarded for doing the bulk of organisational stuff for the club for a number of years. In addition, Peter has always been the hardest working Warlord - it was Peter who stayed behind at Call-to-Arms to ensure the hall was cleaned, he helped clean out the terrain closets and got the trailer to take away the rubbish, and he bought and put together the new trestles. And, of course, Peter has organised the annual "Maelstrom" and Warpstorm" events. And, in spite of all this work, he manages to find the time to paint awesome armies which have consistently done well at competitions in New Zealand and Australia. However, Peter can not leap over tall buildings in a single bound, nor is he faster than a speeding bullet. He has retired from the committee in order to further those skills.

Peter was placed 1st, awarded the Best Army and Best Painted Army in Warhammer 40k at the New Zealand Grand Tournament.  He was placed 1st and awarded Player's Choice in Warhammer 40k at the Melbourne Grand Tournament.

2002
Paul Goldstone

Received the award for his enthusiasm across a variety of periods at the Club. Worked to get new players (including junior members) into WWII gaming. Organised a number of multiplayer refights including a large battle recreating Stalingrad (to coincide with 60th anniversary).

Paul was part of the Warlords contingent who went to the Sydney Grand Tournament where his Dwarves won Best Army.

2001
Bruce Ferguson

Bruce was instrumental in the construction of the Warlords website. Used his technical skills to build the architecture and then populated the pages. This provides the Club with an electronic faceplate to the gaming community. The site has been responsible for attracting new members to the Club.

With Mike Anastasiadis, won the 15mm DBM Doubles at the Club's convention, Call to Arms.

2000
Hagen Kerr

Over the year Hagen had a series of articles published in "White Dwarf" publicising the Warlords. He also umpired the 40k competition at Call to Arms. This tournament used a narrative base and set the standard for 40k in New Zealand.

Hagen was placed 2nd at the Nationals and the NZ Grand Tournament in 40k, he won numerous Best Army and Best Painted Army prizes.

1999
Peter Dunn

Supposedly awarded the accolade due to his work in organising and running a series of War of the Roses DBM battles through the year. Peter likes to think it was because the Committee noticed his latent "evilness" and saw it as a talent worth nuturing.

Peter was a 5th place at ValleyCon in DBM.
