Our friend Scott from Kapiti is trying to organise a Hobbit gaming league around the Wellington area. This will hopefully lead to more people interested in playing it and with the hopes that it can be run as a tournament at next year’s Call to Arms. Contact Scott through his webpage at http://www.scottswargaming.blogspot.co.nz/ or via email at email@example.com.
He has made up a PDF flyer that you can download with more details:
This year’s Warhammer 40,000 League is running from 1st October 2014 until 31st March 2015.
Well, Call to Arms is over for another year! We hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as we did hosting it and that you’re all well rested now.
Thank you to all the players and all the Warlords committee members for all your parts in helping to make it such a great event.
Hundreds of pictures have been posted on our Facebook page, and over the next few weeks, we’ll pick a few of our favourites and post them here too. Also, if you’re a Tournament Organiser, please email us your results lists so we can post them up here.
We welcome any questions and feedback, which can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Just a quick reminder that this weekend is Call to Arms! ie; the 16th and 17th of August, 2014.
There was an article in the Cook Strait News, published yesterday that incorrectly stated CTA was last weekend. So please keep that in mind if you are visiting this site after reading that article.
One more thing—ENTRANCE IS FREE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. Sorry for not clarifying that earlier, but we will be open to the general public, and there will be lots of great games for you to look at, plus there may be a few people selling goodies. As well as all the tournament games, there are going to be several demo games, several of which promise to be spectacular! Also, keep in mind that there will be different demo games being run on both days, so be sure to clear your calendars for the whole weekend! Bring your friends along.
We look forward to seeing you there, and hope you all have a great time.
Doors open at 8am each morning.
Call to Arms 2014 is only 2 weeks away! If you haven’t registered already, now’s a really good time! We’re not restricting numbers to any tournament, so there are spaces for everyone! If you’ve already registered, then please remember to get your army list to your Tournament Organiser (TO) as appropriate.
Confirmed tournaments are:
- Field of Glory
- Flames of War
- Skirmish Sangin
- Warhammer Fantasy Battle
- Warhammer 40,000
- X-Wing one-day tournament
It’s going to be a full house because on top of the regular tournaments, we will be hosting a huge variety of demo games over the two days. So even if you’re not a player, there’s plenty for you to come along and see.
Demo games will include the biggest Napoleonics game you’ve ever seen (Saturday only). The table will be 20 foot wide! I kid you not. It’s going to be HUGE. Plus we have Pulp Alley, Dystopian Wars, 1/300 scale Cold War, WW1, Warmachine, Bushido, Colonial NZ Wars, and The Hobbit!
Any questions, email us at email@example.com.
See you there!
Because we love you all, we are extending the early bird registration period by 2 weeks! The last day is now Monday the 14th of July, 2014.
There was a big flood of registrations over the last few days, so we’re giving you another chance to get in for the lower price of $45. On Tuesday the 15th, the price goes up to $60, so get in quick because places are filling up!
We look forward to seeing you there.
If you’re waiting on demo game registrations, I apologise for being a slacker. It turns out though, that we have so many people wanting to run demo games, that we simply can’t fit you all in. It really hurts me to say that, but we will do our absolute best to accommodate.
Because of that, I can’t do a registration form as I was hoping to do. What I am going to do instead is work down the list from those who asked first and give them priority.
There is a huge Napoleonics game planned for Saturday, so that means Sunday there will be a chunk of space freed up, so if we can’t fit you in both days, you may still get a shot on Sunday.
The cost for running a demo game is $10 per person per day. Due to space constraints, we are capping numbers at 3 registered persons per table. If you are running a participation game, then the fee for the first person is waived.
I’m really sorry about having shuffle things around like this, but with so many more games on the market these days and so many generous gamers willing to take time out of their day to show them off and teach others how to play, we’ve had to do some creative shuffling. And hey, if it all goes well and demand goes up, we may just have to find a bigger venue next year! Like there’s any such thing as too much wargaming? Sounds like a Tui ad.
Any questions, please get in touch with us at calltoarms at warlords.org.nz.
There will be a two-day Malifaux event, which is actually two tournaments! On Saturday there will be a hardcore tournament, and on Sunday the main tournament. Check out the player pack on the Call To Arms 2014 page.
There is also an updated registration form which includes Malifaux. It’s possible to sign up for either day, or to sign up for both days.
If signing up for both though, and you’re doing so in the Early Bird stage, it’s cheaper to sign up for the two-day version at $45. After June 31st, it will be cheaper to sign up for the two individual tournaments!
There are limited places though, so get in fast!
The player pack for Skirmish Sangin, a modern warfare skirmish game created right here in Wellington, is available for download. Grab it at the Call to Arms 2014 page.
With the new release of Warhammer 40,000 7th edition, the play guidelines for this year’s Call To Arms have changed.
Please be sure to check back to the CTA 2014 convention page and grab the latest 40K player pack. It’s labelled as v1.1 so you can tell it apart from the original.
And in further news, a Wellington designed and written modern warfare skirmish game, Skirmish Sangin, will be run as a tournament at this year’s CTA! There will only be 10 places available, so get in quick! I’ll update the registration forms soon, and there will also be a player pack made available, but in the mean time, you can just write it on the form in any space available if that’s the game you want to play. It will be a two-day tournament.
So that’s the great news for the day. See you at CTA.
